Biomechanics Testing

In order to develop technologies that are specifically designed for action sports, one first has to understand what is happening to a person’s body as they are participating in them. STI conducts biomechanical tests to do just that. Serving as the first step in the design process, biomechanics is the study of human motion, which allows Sole Technology to better understand what’s happening to your body as you’re skateboarding, snowboarding or BMXing.

Using a variety of tools, such as force plates, in-shoe pressure insoles, high-speed digital video cameras, accelerometers and temperature probes, STI can precisely measure all the intricate movements of riders while they set up and perform tricks. This information is then used to help design and test new technologies specific for action sports athletes.
